Which African country has the largest land area on the continent?

Answer

Algeria

Algeria covers approximately 2.38 million square kilometres, making it the largest country in Africa by land area and the tenth largest in the world. It surpassed Sudan after South Sudan's independence in 2011 transferred much of Sudan's former territory into a separate nation.

Algeria is so vast that it borders eleven countries — more than almost any other African nation — yet over 90% of its land is covered by the Sahara Desert.
