- Create and manage your account
- Track quiz completions and sweepstakes entries
- Send you newsletters and promotional communications (with your consent)
- Respond to your inquiries and support requests

- Detect and prevent fraud or abuse
- Comply with legal obligations
4. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information for money. However, our use of third-party advertising and measurement tools (described in “Advertising & Conversion Measurement” below) may be considered “sharing” or “cross-context behavioral advertising” under certain U.S. state privacy laws. You can opt out of this sharing as described in Section 7 (“Your Rights and Choices”).
We may share your information with:
- Service providers: Third-party companies that help us operate the Service (e.g., hosting, email delivery, analytics, customer support)
- Advertising and measurement partners: Companies that help us serve, target, and measure ads, including Google (Google Ads, Google Analytics), Meta (Facebook and Instagram), TikTok, Pinterest, and the third-party advertising networks that display ads on our pages. The categories of information shared with these partners are described in the “Advertising & Conversion Measurement” section below.
- Authentication providers: Google and Meta, only when you choose to sign in using one of those accounts
- Legal compliance: When required by law, subpoena, or legal process
- Safety: To protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or the public
- Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets
5. Advertising & Conversion Measurement
We use third-party advertising and measurement tools to promote the Service, to understand which ads and channels drive sign-ups and quiz play, and to fund the Service through display advertising. This section describes what data flows to those partners and why.
Conversion measurement (current)
When you arrive at the Service from a paid Google ad, we capture the click identifier (gclid) Google appends to the landing URL and store it in your browser's local storage. If you then create an account or complete a key action, we send Google a conversion event that includes:
- The click identifier (so Google can match the conversion to the ad you clicked)
- A one-way, irreversible SHA-256 hash of your email address (Google's “Enhanced Conversions” feature, which improves measurement accuracy without exposing your raw email)
- The event name, timestamp, and approximate value
We do not share your raw email address, password, quiz answers, sweepstakes entries, or any other personal information with Google for conversion measurement. The same hashing approach applies to equivalent measurement events we send to Meta, TikTok, and Pinterest as described below.
Advertising pixels (rolling out)
We are deploying advertising pixels and SDKs on the Service from the following partners. Each pixel sets one or more cookies or first-party storage entries and reports a subset of your activity (such as page views, sign-ups, and quiz completions) back to that partner so we can measure ad performance and build remarketing audiences:
- Meta Pixel — for advertising on Facebook and Instagram (operated by Meta Platforms, Inc.)
- TikTok Pixel — for advertising on TikTok
- Pinterest Tag — for advertising on Pinterest
- Google Ads remarketing & conversion tag — for advertising on Google Search, YouTube, and the Google Display Network
Where supported by the partner, the pixel includes a hashed (SHA-256) version of your email address so the partner can attribute conversions to ad clicks more accurately and match you to your existing account on that platform. We do not share unhashed email addresses, passwords, or quiz content with these partners.
Customer Match and audience uploads
We may upload hashed (SHA-256) versions of subscriber email addresses to advertising platforms (including Google Customer Match and Meta Custom Audiences) so those platforms can show our ads to people who already know TheDailyQuiz and to find new users with similar interests (“lookalike” or “similar” audiences). Hashed lists cannot be reversed into raw emails by the platforms.
Third-party display advertising
The Service displays advertisements served by third-party advertising networks. These networks and their partners may use cookies, web beacons, device identifiers, IP address, browser information, and the pages you view on TheDailyQuiz to deliver ads tailored to your interests, to measure ad performance, and to limit how often you see the same ad. The data they collect is governed by their own privacy policies.
How to opt out
You can limit interest-based advertising in several ways:
- Adjust your Google ad personalization settings at adssettings.google.com.
- Adjust your Meta ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram account settings.
- Adjust your TikTok ad preferences in your TikTok account settings under “Privacy → Ads.”

- Visit the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out page at optout.aboutads.info or the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out at optout.networkadvertising.org.
- For our email marketing, click the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of any email. Unsubscribing also removes your address from future advertising-audience uploads.
- To request that we stop “sharing” your information for cross-context behavioral advertising under U.S. state privacy laws, see Section 7 below.
For the specific cookies and storage entries set by each partner, see our Cookie Policy.
