The Yarlung Tsangpo Grand Canyon in Tibet, China is considered the deepest canyon on Earth, with depths exceeding 6,000 meters at its deepest point. The canyon is carved by the Yarlung Tsangpo River (the upper course of the Brahmaputra River) as it flows through the eastern Himalayas. While the Grand Canyon is more famous and spectacular, the Yarlung Tsangpo is deeper in vertical relief.
